About Jacob

Biography

Jacob Creps is a managing partner one of Indiana’s long standing family owned businesses, Creps United Publications. His grandfather Howard Creps, started the business in 1948 with his sons Gar, Jack and Jim. Jacob represents the third generation of his family to operate the company. Creps United Publications began as a local newspaper printer; today, Creps prints 100 million advertising inserts each month. A devastating fire in October 2012 destroyed the Creps plant in White Township, causing $75 million in damage and leaving about 250 employees out of work. Jacob and Creps company leaders first contacted customers and arranged with other printing companies to have their printing jobs placed.

The future of the company was uncertain.

Jacob’s options included rebuilding Creps United Publications in another town, but he was determined to keep the company in the Indiana County community. Because of the commitment of Jacob and his corporate team, with an outpouring of support from the community, and with the resources and expertise of Indiana County economic development officials, the company built a new plant in the Windy Ridge Business and Technology Park and has returned to full service.

Jacob Creps and his company have put most of their employees back to work and recovered most of their customer base, and they look forward to the future and the opportunities that await them in their up-to- date facility.
