The Indiana County Business Hall of Fame recognizes past and present business leaders for their lifetime achievements in promoting and advancing the economic climate of Indiana County.

The Hall of Fame is housed in the main lobby of the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex on the campus of IUP.

Class of 2018

Martin Bearer

Owner of Northern Cambria Fuels and Chestnut Ridge Developer

Lewis L. McGill

Chamber Director Emeritus and co-owner of McGill Motors Inc.

C. Gilbert Wolfenden

S&T Board President/Chairman from 1931-1974; President of Indiana Hospital Board and the founder of the Indiana Community Chest, a forerunner of United Way; first Chairman of Indiana County Chamber of Commerce, helped create the Indiana County Development Corporation

James Miller

past president, CEO and chairman of S&T Bank, past Chair of the Chamber, the United Way and IRMC and is currently on the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Board

James L. Carino,

former President of J.L. Carino Nurseries, Inc. and Carino Nurseries

2018 Indiana County Business Hall of Fame Inductees

Indiana, PA – The Indiana County Chamber of Commerce at its annual member luncheon today announced the 2018 class of inductees for the Indiana County Business Hall of Fame.

Chamber Board of Directors Vice Chairman Jim Kinneer with Indiana Regional Medical Center (IRMC) made the announcement.

The following individuals will represent the fourth class of the Hall of Fame in 2018:

Deceased:

  • Martin Bearer, owner of Northern Cambria Fuels and Chestnut Ridge Developer
  • Lewis L. McGill, Chamber Director Emeritus and co-owner of McGill Motors Inc.
  • C. Gilbert Wolfenden, S&T Board President/Chairman from 1931-1974; President of Indiana Hospital Board and the founder of the Indiana Community Chest, a forerunner of United Way; first Chairman of Indiana County Chamber of Commerce, helped create the Indiana County Development Corporation

Living:

  • James Miller, past president, CEO and chairman of S&T Bank, past Chair of the Chamber, the United Way and IRMC and is currently on the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Board
  • Lucy Donnelly, Indiana Gazette

“We are honored to announce the 2018 Business Hall of Fame class,” Kinneer said. “These people represent the strength of our business community and helped to make Indiana County a great place to live and work.”

The 2018 class will be officially inducted into the Hall during a formal dinner at the Kovalchick Complex in the Spring of 2018. The Indiana County Business Hall of Fame is located on the wall near the ticket counter in the Kovalchick Complex lobby.

Nominations submitted but not selected for the Hall of Fame will be kept by the Chamber of Commerce for a period of 5 years from the date of application. These nominations will be included each year along with the new applications for selection into the Business Hall of Fame.
